The waiter handed Seb the first-aid kit box, before cleaning the shattered glass on the floor. Seb opened the box, and handed a strip of band-aid to Jake.

Throughout the time that Tori was watching Jake assist me, and until now that he was applying the strip to my finger, I could feel her irritated glare.

‘‘Does it still hurt?’’ Jake asked, looking up at me.
