Chapter 255. Distraction
Jake’s home was not what I expected. It’s a quaint little white house with a small garden and a garage. The lawn was well cared of.
Jake pulled into the driveway and turned the engine off. I heard Stef groan in the back while Alex started to stir in his sleep, slowly blinking his eyes, and then opening them.
‘‘Where are we?’’ Alex asked, yawning, and stretching his arms as he looked around.
‘‘We’re here now at Jake’s house…’’ I said as I unlocked the car and hopped out.
‘‘What did she do?’’ As Jake looked at Stef who was splayed out on the back seat, his brows furrowed with annoyed bewilderment.
‘‘I wouldn’t be surprised though. She’s a party girl…’’ I commented matter-of-factly, crossing my arms over my chest.
Jake and I made eye contact, and I swallowed when the intensity of his gaze lingering on my face made me look away, pretending to be interested in something around the house.
