Chapter 265. Lunch Date
I took a few moments to look around the traditional restaurant that Jake and I had just entered. The space had low lighting and exuded opulence thanks to the emerald green walls, tan leather banquettes, and equestrian-themed artwork that adorned the walls.
I observed a number of men and women dressed formally eating their lunch. Because of this, I felt even more out of place, which was compounded by the fact that Jake was also dressed formally for work in his business suit.
I couldn't help but glance down at my outfit, and the embarrassment I felt was overwhelming. On the other hand, I hardly had time to give this issue a second consideration because the waitress was already directing us to our seats.
When I sat down after Jake, he immediately picked up on the fact that I was feeling uneasy.
