I forged my father's signature on the permission slip for the sports competition that we were holding to earn money for our upcoming trip to Italy. I did this because I was confident that he would be on board with the idea, no matter what. But due to the fact that he was perpetually busy and I was unable to find the time to make him sign it, I copied his signature.

Students crowded into the gym in full force. We had all registered our attendance at the tables that were arranged in a row at the base of the bleachers.

I was taking part in the long jump competition, and I noticed that there was no sign of Jake anywhere. He was presumably helping set things up outdoors on the turf with the football players. Coach Brown was on paternity leave because his wife had just given birth to their baby last night. So, Jake was in charge of what Coach Brown was assigned to do.
