The morning sun's rays hit my eyelids, making me wince, and when I finally opened my eyes, I noticed Kaden sleeping beside me. I was curled up in his arms, my cheek resting against his chest.

Feeling overheated and sweaty, I slowly shifted away from him. It was already summer, and I had totally forgotten to turn on the AC the night before. I pulled my shirt off and tossed it onto the floor, leaving just my bra on.

My gaze drifted back to the man next to me, and a small smile crept onto my face. He looked so peaceful while he slept, and I couldn’t help but think how beautiful he was, and how he was mine now, or at least, not quite yet. Not until he cleared out the room filled with Lily’s pictures.
