I leaned back in my chair, locking my gaze on the person sitting right across from me. It was tough to keep my anger in check, and I fought the urge to wipe that smug grin off the editor's overly flushed face.

He was there, completely oblivious to the dark thoughts swirling in my head, rambling on about client confidentiality and other nonsense. With each word, my mood plummeted, and I clenched my jaw so tightly I thought I might crack a tooth.
