Chapter 35. Dinner

God! I have my own problems too, and here was Liza, telling me all of this. And she seemed to be desperately needing my help. “I don’t even know what to say, Liza. What are you going to do now?”
“I told you already. I don’t know…” she panicked, wrapping her arms around herself, and I pulled her in a tight embrace, running my fingers over her hair, calming her.
I faintly heard Enzo’s footsteps down the corridor, and I quickly pulled away from Liza.
“Reese?” A knock from him made Liza’s eyes widen. “Are you ready?” His deep, melodic voice made my face flush, and I quickly avoided Liza’s gaze.
I was thankful she didn’t notice me blushing, as she was busy thinking about her own problem.
“Yeah, I’m done. Liza’s in here! We’re getting out in a minute!” I responded to Enzo, and I heard him grunt an ‘okay’ before he walked away. “Can we talk about it after dinner? I don’t want your brother getting suspicious…”
