Chapter 41. Guilty

Hearing the words Troy said was like a knife slicing my heart into two. I don’t understand my heart anymore. I wasn’t actually here to make him fall in love with me, have sex with him, or take him back from my mother. I just wanted to get even with them. To make mom feel what she made me feel when she made the decision to steal Troy away from me.

But why was I hurting more?

“And also, you agreed to leave this house without getting anything but your belongings. If you want to take it back, you have to pay me…” those were his final words before he took off his pants and shirt, leaving only in his boxers before he threw his body into the bed, groaning as he closed his eyes, preparing himself to go to sleep.

“Oh, God!” I buried my face in my hands, pain and rejection oozed out of my body in waves. His harsh voice still echoed in my ears, and broke my heart over and over again.

I sank down on the bed beside him, my eyes were fixed on the ceiling
