“I’ll order shabu-shabu and tempura for you then,” he declared, snapping the menu shut. “They were my late wife’s favorite Japanese dishes during her pregnancy with our twins.”
I paused momentarily, sipping the tea the waiter had served to soothe my nerves, before taking a deep breath. “I am one of your twins, Mr. Vincent,” I wanted to reveal, but my mouth couldn’t just utter the words.
“Anyway, why do you want to talk with Enzo?” he inquired, taking a sip of his red wine. “I could call him for you, but I doubt he’s available to talk at the moment. He’s busy with Candice and Asher.”
What? Asher was with them too? So, he ensured his family was all together before he departed from Manhattan.
