“Excuse me, ma’am, you see there are other visitors lining up.” he said in a polite tone, gesturing for me to sit in the waiting area. “You can sit in the lobby first.”
Turning slowly, I realized there were people waiting behind me, leaving me no option but to follow the security guard. He guided me to the waiting area, where I observed people seated on the couch.
“Thank you…” I sent the guard a small smile, and he smiled back, throwing me an apologetic look before he walked away.
I sat down next to a man in a black suit who appeared to be waiting for his interview. He had the air of someone respectable, perhaps already holding a high position in a company. Next to him was a woman who was engrossed in scrolling through her phone.
Leaning back against the couch, I let out an exhausted sigh. I knew I should wait for Enzo to appear in the lobby, but the question remained: how long would that wait be?
