Silas’s POV
The last thing I need is for him to know why I’m here. He’ll start building castles out of the sand.
“I’m not.”
“You sure?”
I sigh now, getting even more frustrated.
“Well, if you’re looking for her, she didn’t come to class today.”
I pause at his words now and look at him. He doesn’t look like he’s joking around and it explains more than a lot.
Freya wasn’t one to miss classes though.
“Did she say anything to you?” I ask sharply before I can stop myself.
Lucas tilts his head. “Why would she? You’re the one she’s mad at, not me.”
“She’s not mad at me.” The words come out flat, defensive.
Lucas snorts. “Right. And you’re not stalking the chemistry lab like a lost puppy.”
“Watch it, Lucas.” My eyes flash.
He raises his hands in surrender. “Fine, fine. But you should probably check on her. She didn’t show up for gym either. Xena was alone.”
I clear my throat, straightening my shoulder
