Chapter 33
Summer POV
“Stop! Stop, let them go,” Ezra ordered.
“What?” Dad and I asked.
“I said let them go, damn it!”
Was he insane? The betas got here quickly. One of them was licking its wounds, and we had them surrounded. Why did he want us to let them go?
“Ezra?” I said through gritted teeth.
He tightened his grip on my waist. He narrowed his eyes on the wolves.
Dad nodded for the betas to part. The wolves saw the gap and ran off. They howled as they ran. They could be vulnerable. I feared this was our best shot, and we’d just blown it.

Ezra slammed his fists on the car.
“Damn it,” Ezra spat.
No one questioned the Alpha, though it was on the tip of my tongue. He had to have his reasons. We were outside the pack house after the incident. I left Estelle at the bar, I didn’t want to worry her and I was sure she was with Hunter, so she was safe.
“What do we do, Ezra?” Dad asked, but I was sure he wanted to say
