Veronica stood by the door and stared at the baby through the rails.

Although they were enemies before, Emerald still felt sorry for her.

“He was beautiful,” Veronica whispered.

“Thank you.”

“He is more like his father.”

Emerald felt sweet and painful. His father hasn’t seen him yet.

Veronica seemed to think about other things, and Emerald guessed she was thinking about Zach Williams. Although the love between a man and a Zerg would have no results, she still hoped Zach could still be alive.

“Can I hold him?” Veronica asked. After hesitation, Emerald still gave the baby to her.

Veronica carefully held the baby through the rails.

“He is soft and fragrant.” Veronica opened her eyes widely, “Emerald, he is smiling at me!”

Emerald looked down, and the baby was smiling. Emerald smiled, too, “He really likes to smile.” It was not like his father.

“Emerald Wilson!” Someone shouted angrily behind her.
