My eyes widened as I looked away from Damien, but before I could go any further, Damien held my hand.

“You, how, why?” she screamed as tears spilled from her eyes. Her voice had Ava, Brian, and my dad running out of the house, probably to see what the noise was about.

Damien held my hand tightly as he frowned at her. He never let me go.

“What is the meaning of this?” Ava snapped at Britney as Britney looked pale for a second. I pitied her somehow; she was obsessed with Damien, and what she had just witnessed wasn’t something she would be calm about.
