As I walked into my room, I could feel my mother's presence behind me, her gaze scanning the room.
"Wow, they fixed it back real good," she remarked, her voice dripping with a hint of sarcasm. I clenched my jaw, avoiding glaring at her; her words were already provoking enough. She destroyed the room, and now she was complementing it.
"So, let's talk," she said, sinking into the nearest seat while I remained standing, feeling the tension crackling in the air. Her smirk only added fuel to the fire of irritation brewing within me
