The day passed, and it was the day of the party Lucas had organized. The house was busy as the maids rushed to set up the palace for the party. I didn’t think there would be many guests—I mean, who gives only a few hours’ notice for a party?
I spent the morning in my room as my mother went through my wardrobe looking for the perfect dress to wear. I knew she wanted to look good in case she caught the eye of a wealthy man or something.
And to add to that, Brian had been invited. The morning passed, and before I knew it, it was evening, and I was already getting ready for the party that Lucas had organized.
Designers and makeup artists were sent over to make me look good, and I sat as they worked on me. I looked at myself in the mirror and couldn’t help but feel so good when they were done.
