Chapter 36. Another Invitation

Calista’s POV

We were downstairs now, and I watched as Draven skillfully moved around the kitchen, gathering ingredients for the pasta dish I had mentioned I liked, or lasagna. His efficiency and ease in preparing everything caught my attention, and I could not help but smile as I observed him.

Draven seemed completely focused on the task at hand, handling everything with a sense of capability that made him seem like husband material—the kind of person I had always imagined meeting.

“You might ask me for some help to make me feel useful, right?” I teased, stepping closer to him with a playful grin on my face.

He glanced back at me over his shoulder, his smirk indicating he was enjoying the banter. “Sure, as long as you will not burn down the kitchen,” he replied playfully, his tone light and teasing.

I laughed, shaking my head in mock offense. It was refreshing and reassuring to see him finally engaging with me in this friendly manner.<
