Calista’s POV

“Thanks, but I really should get ready first…” I murmured, addressing all of their invitations. The embarrassment of my appearance was overwhelming.

I felt like a complete mismatch in my casual attire while they all looked impeccably dressed.

“Who cares about that?” Draven’s voice cut through, his tone icy and compelling. It made me want to draw closer to the breakfast table despite my pride nudging me to prioritize my appearance.

The aroma of food teased my senses, tempting me further. Yet, I struggled with the contrast between their elegance and my disheveled state.

“I know—” I started to respond, but Zane’s gentle interruption cut me off. “It’s alright, Calista,” he reassured me with a warm smile. “You should eat first. You have plenty of time,” he added, coaxing a smile from me despite my embarrassment. I realized I couldn’t keep refusing their hospitality.
