Calista’s POV

Opening it, he revealed a delicate gold necklace. My eyes widened in surprise as he guided me towards a mirror and carefully fastened it around my neck.

“Why?” I breathed, my voice barely audible as I stared at my reflection, stunned by the gesture. “I don’t know if I can accept this, Cedric. It’s… it’s expensive…”

“You’re more important to me,” he interrupted softly, his voice unwavering. “The value of things doesn’t matter compared to how much I care about you, Calista. I want to be serious with you. I already am serious about you.”

His words echoed in my mind, leaving me wide-eyed and overwhelmed. Two confessions in one day from two handsome men—was this real?

“Cedric,” I murmured, my gaze flickering away from him, unable to meet his eyes. He withdrew his touch, sensing my unease.

“I’m sorry if I made it too sudden,” he ventured, running a hand through his hair in a gesture of nervousness. I shook my head quickly, trying to
