‘Ameira, let’s talk.’

‘Please talk to me!’

‘Don’t do this to me again! After what happened between us, you disappeared once more. You’re not talking to me again.’

‘I keep going back to your condo, but your friend keeps telling me you’re not there. Are you hiding from me this time?’

‘Stop playing with my heart, Ameira. This isn’t funny!’

I lost count. I found myself rereading those messages from Xandros over and over again. He had no idea where I was, and Lexie was the only one I had informed of my whereabouts after returning to Manila from the Estofanno and Sanders private resort early Sunday morning. It had been almost two weeks since then, and I hadn’t returned to Manila yet. In fact, my trip back was scheduled for later.
