Chapter 143. What a Tragedy

After one week of being unconscious, Esther finally opened her eyes and found herself in the hospital, with an unknown man sitting next to her bed.

"Are you awake?"

The man dressed as a policeman smiled at Esther.

''I will call a doctor for you.''

The man then left Esther's room, leaving her still trying to digest everything that had happened to her.

Esther then directed her gaze to one of her hands, which was handcuffed and attached to the head of the hospital bed.

"So this is the end."

Esther seemed resigned to what she saw on her hand.

"Why don't I just die?"

Esther remembers what she did, so she ended up in the hospital bed she is in now.

"Thank you for taking care of me, Esther, and thank you for killing yourself for me."

And Esther also remembers seeing and hearing Martin talking to her.
