Cameron might be the only choice I had for now. Besides, Nate was his foster brother and best friend. Indeed, he would respect Nate and me enough not to touch me. Again, he told me I would be his mate in the name only. I felt my stomach again. Maybe I could find happiness one day, but I couldn’t see any other way out for now.
There was a knock on the door. A maid came with a tray. She trembled and didn’t want to look me in the eye. The maid almost dropped the tray, but she balanced it. Soon, she arranged the plates, bowls, and cutlery. When she bowed to go out, I stopped her.
