Chapter 56. Father and Daughter-In-Law

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. My dress was a beautiful white silk and lace design, cut to follow my body shape. It had a low neckline to show my cleavage. The mermaid shape showed off my figure. I wanted to tease Cameron from now on. I hoped he would like the dress. 

Father sent me a bottle of wine before, and it was delicious. It was safe for my pup, so I drank a glass. I was better afterward because I was nervous about the marking ceremony. Susanne left my room after she frowned. I didn’t understand why she didn’t look happy for me. It’s a great day for me, as I would have Cameron as my mate. That’s why I was confused about why Susanne stared at me as if I had grown two horns on my head when I told her how I had been waiting for the day to make Cameron mine.

My father came to my room and patted my hand after Susanne left. He was proud and happy for me as I told him I couldn’t wait to be Cameron’s mate. 

“That’s my girl,” he said.
