Chapter 74. The Guilt

Lily’s POV

“Are you asking me why I came to work?” I stood too shocked at Alan.

I didn’t at once think that Alan would do this to me. For all the sacrifices, for all the things he made me do. We have a child together.

I was on my way to my mother’s office when I heard hushed voices along the hallway. The hallway led to the laboratory, and just a few were allowed me. It was strictly out of bounds. I wanted to ignore Jason arguing with any of the staff, but then I couldn’t when I heard a heavy clash. I wanted to know what was going on. I went ahead to find out, only to find Alan arguing with Adrian. It’s unusual for him. So I listened to all their conversations.

I leaned on the way drained of color when I heard Alan talking about Athena. Tears dripped down my cheek. I thought I had met a man I had feelings for. I was looking after another’s family when my own family was slowly dying away right in front of me.

I remembered Neomi’s words of infidelit
