Chapter 83. You Keep Letting Them Use You

I could not tell what happened, but as Neomi entered the car, she zoomed off immediately without any care in the world. She was supposed to retrieve the baby from the car for us to take the sample, but unfortunately she had other plans. She drove the car away, leaving me and Tala behind.

Within seconds, the enforcers arrived. Their car siren blaring, I tried to make a run, but a strong hand held me in place. The first thought that ran through my mind was if this was a set up. It could be.

They took me away with Tala. Our hands are cuffed behind our backs with a metal chain. David managed to escape. The smart one, he wasn’t even there when the enforcers arrived. Who could have raised the alarm? Could it be David or Alan? I know I couldn’t trust that jerk, but I had to hang around to get the answers I wanted.
