I don’t know how long I was unconscious but when I woke up, I felt pain in most parts of my body and my pup kicked vigorously in my womb.

It was as if he knew his mother was in danger.

My head throbbed. My wrists were bound behind me with silver shackles, burning my skin. And the room had a very awful odor that made me feel nauseous.

I glared at him. “Kaelan will kill you.”

He laughed. “Not if we kill you first.”

My stomach twisted. They weren’t asking for ransom. They didn’t want leverage.

They just wanted me dead.

I tried to think of a way to escape but couldn’t come up with any idea.

“What do you want?” I asked, not knowing what else to say. “I’m willing to pay you handsomely.

The rogue grin widened. “We don’t need your money. We need you dead. We want Kaelan to feel the pain of losing his beloved Luna.”
