Chapter 14. My First Contest

After Kaelan said those words, my heart trembled in fear. It was almost impossible to believe that there would be such a strong prophecy about someone as insignificant as me.
All these years I had lived like a puppet, thinking I was created by mistake. But the Moon Goddess had bigger plans.
Oh how I wish I could bring prosperity to the werewolf kingdom instead of doom.
Well, I was just going to do my best and leave the rest for the goddess above.
Kaelan and I spent the rest of the night in each other’s arms while he occasionally traced wet kisses around my neck. I returned to my room in the morning and found breakfast already waiting for me.
Kaelan had left early for a business engagement so we aren’t sharing breakfast today. I ate my food in silence, feeling bored already. I can’t really explain it but I’ve begun to feel empty whenever Kaelan wasn’t around.
