Chapter 61
Ramon POV
“Nothing you need to worry about,” I replied, keeping my tone light. “Can’t a man just be happy without his brothers interrogating him?”
“Not when that man is you,” Romeo said dryly. “You don’t do anything without a plan, Ramon. You definitely don’t suddenly show up with a mate and a kid unless there’s more to the story.”
“The story is that I found them, and I’m keeping them,” I said with more force than I’d intended. “That’s all that matters.”
The conversation was interrupted by shrieks from the pool. I looked over to see that Troy had somehow convinced Lake to at least sit on the edge with his feet in the water.
Lake still looked uncomfortable, but Troy was talking animatedly beside him, and I could see some of the tension starting to leave Lake’s shoulders.
