Chapter 43. Crossroads

“Everyone okay?” I asked, Loki.

He nodded and stared at the street full of people. “It was here for her. She was working with its master. He knew she was going to out him.”

Local medical professionals took what was left of Ana to the hospital. Good thing this town was mostly a werewolf population otherwise it would be difficult to explain it to humans.

“He’s close, Loki. We have a freaking mole.”

“I hate moles,” Loki spat.

“Where the hell do I go now? Dead witches, wolves and a freaking fire demon.”

Loki looked as blank as me. Ana didn’t know where Paris was because her plan went sideways then there was a chance my Kitten got away.

I pulled out my phone and dialled the guard’s number at the apartment building.

“Tell me she made it home,” I demanded.

He breathed a heavy sigh and I hung up. I knew what he was going to say.

“Damn it.”
