Chapter 49. Possible Stalker
Ryker’s bar was becoming our favourite place. It was close we didn’t have to drive there. Marcel let the Porsche rest. We walked hand in hand out of the building. I leaned into him as we strolled down the street. Under the cover of night, we were afforded the luxury of looking like a normal couple.
Marcel stopped suddenly.
“Did I grab my wallet?” he patted down his jeans.
We hadn’t gone far we could turn around and get it. I looked over my shoulder at the apartment building but caught a glimpse of a man in a black hoodie.
I jumped and startled Marcel.
“What?” he demanded.
The man looked my way and caught me staring. He turned around quickly and vanished. He was the same one I spotted on my way back from Ryker’s bar. I tried to calm myself. He could just be a local, but why am I only seeing him now?
“Paris?” Marcel took my face in his hands. “Look at me, honey, what’s wrong?”
