“You know, when the alpha king left Jade six months ago, I knew something was off with him. His face was paler than ever, but he was still strong, and so I thought a little of it,” Lycan King Aeon Diamandis said as he and Edward walked through the garden.

“Fate plays cruel cards on all of us sometimes.”

Aeon nodded in agreement with his words. “How is his Luna holding up?” he asked.

“Queen Mia is a brave queen; she has not allowed this to hold her down; she does her royal duties while filling in for her husband where the need arises.”

He chuckled a little. “It reminds me of my queen, Olivia. I think our mates are the bravest side of us.”

To that, Edward agreed. “You are right.”
