Chapter 39. Dark Truth
It was now the morning after the crimson moon and it had gone perfectly. Xavier had expected a painful and uncontrollable shift, but he didn’t get one.
It didn’t make sense why, as the moon set yesterday, he only desired to be with his wife and nothing else. When the crimson moon reached its peak, instead of losing control and shifting, he stayed in control of his senses and wanted to be with his mate who had placed herself in confinement in her cabin. After trying to wait the desire out into midnight, he couldn’t anymore. He came to her door and knocked. She opened, shocked to find him still in his human form.
“I want you,” was all he said before stepping into her cabin with eyes glowing with desire which needed to be satisfied. She didn’t deny him. Turned out her confinement was to control her lustful desires and keep her from leaving her cabin in search of him while he shifted.
