Chapter 13. Evil Lurks Within the Shadows

The world around me began to spin and I suddenly felt unsteady. I wanted to throw up as my gut churned deep in my stomach.

The realization that my mother had died because of me was too much to bear. All Because of some stupid werewolf destiny I never wished to be a part of. I lowered my head to the counter, my forehead grazing the cold surface as my body trembled in uncontrollable sobs. My sight blurred as tears streamed down my eyes and splattered on the ground underneath me.

She had died because of me.

“It’s not your fault,” Liam said, his tone trying to offer solace, as he rubbed on my shoulder. But he was wrong.

All of this was all my fault.

I raised my head and looked Diana in the eyes, “I didn’t ask for any of this. How much do I have to suffer?”

“Bullshit,” I spat out through clenched teeth and I felt Wilona’s hand still on mine before she retreated. I was hone
