I could feel her perceptible misery from the room. Her emotions cast a heavy shadow, intertwining with my own emotions. It weighed on me, causing my wolf to whimper in response to his mate. Yet, I shut him out.

I felt revolted that he was acting in such a way because of a woman.

A difficult one at that. But that was the thing about the mate bond. No matter how shitty that person was, it would be hard to resist.
