Chapter 25. Greater Good
Gina’s POV
The woman who knelt in front of me was my mother. After feeling like I had lost her, I was happy to find her again. Her beauty was accentuated by a radiant white light as she gently cradled her pregnant stomach.
Determination coursed through me as I reached out to touch her with outstretched hands. To my surprise, I was able to place my hand on her shoulders.
But something wasn't right.
Touching her should have given a sense of solace but what I got was the opposite. Her touch seared my skin with an intense heat. Desperation welled up as I cried out, trying to pull back as a burning agony streamed through me, but my hand couldn't come off. It felt like it was glued to her skin.
