Chapter 211. It's Time

Ox’s POV.

The war was drawing closer and closer. James Moretti’s men were here and ready and waiting for my instructions. It was the next day now.

I felt like I should reach out to my dad one last time before this broke out, maybe try to reason with him? But that was the problem. There was no reasoning with these men. It was impossible.

He didn’t do these things because he had to. He did them because he wanted to. He did them because he wanted to prove something. Show that he could get away with whatever he wanted to do.

It was time to move Peggy to the secret basement. I had been in my office all day, I felt like I made her uncomfortable so I tried to stay away from the quarters as much as I could even though I missed her so badly.

Let’s just finish with this war…….that’s all. As long as I could finish with the war I should be able to fix things between me and her.
