Chapter 168

John looked back and saw Helena suddenly fall. He ran fast enough to prevent her from hitting her head on the ground.

He held her in his arms while she trembled uncontrollably.

"Helena? Helena?"

He called to her, but she seemed to be in some kind of inexplicable trance.

The commander’s heart beat slowly, his eyes wide as he didn't know what was happening to his wife.

Helena was simply thrown back to reality, and her first sight was the commander’s face, his obsidian eyes staring at her, perplexed and worried. Suddenly, her vision blurred, the image of his face flickering.

She couldn’t explain why until she felt his fingers on her cheek and his soft words.

"Are you crying? Does it hurt, Helena?"

She closed her eyes, rubbed her face with her hands, then sat up and embraced the commander, tight enough for him to ask.

"What did you see, princess?"

He separated them just enough to look at her, and then she replied:
