Chapter 73
Gracie and Henry didn’t speak again during the night, and in the morning, they managed to buy a horse. The man who had taken her horse was impossible to find, and Gracie felt like an idiotic fool. Fortunately, Henry acted as if it didn’t matter.
As they rode along the road to Blackburn, they were surprised to come across about two hundred men in the colors of the Windsor Clan—red—and there was also dark blue, which she didn’t recognize the clan of. However, it didn’t seem to be an offensive against the castle coup. They weren’t carrying the war banner, which was the black wolf with bared fangs.
Every clan at war carried their banner as a prelude to battle.
Gracie jumped off the horse when she realized she would be caught; she hadn’t imagined that news of what happened to the Alpha would reach Blackburn before her. As soon as her feet hit the ground, she ran into the forest, as far away as she could.
