That bastard returned when I least expected it. Still, I had already secured a few things for myself—small moves he wouldn’t notice. But that didn’t calm the rage simmering inside me. The moment he arrived, he took everything I’d worked for—everything I’d sacrificed years to build. I bled for this pack, ran it without sleep, without thanks, only for him to show up and remind me brutally that in their eyes, I was nothing more than a stand-in. A placeholder. And I hated every second of it.
That foolish beta didn’t help matters either. The moment Abel walked back into the pack, the idiot practically threw the title at him. If only I could snap his neck and be done with him.
In two days, I would have to announce publicly that I was handing the alpha title back to its “rightful heir.”
