Chapter 20. I Will Go with You

Emily's POV

The tears welled up in my eyes after he said that. I couldn't hold it and just allowed them to fall freely. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. I was just cramped with a lot of emotions. Gratitude, relief, and something else, something deeper.

"I... I don't know how to thank you. This is more than I could ever ask for. You don't know how much this means to me."

He reached out and gently placed a hand on my shoulder.

"You don't have to thank me, Emily. I'm happy to help. His health is important, and so is your peace of mind. I can't have you working for me and running around the same time. It's okay. Everything will be fine." He added.

I nodded and wiped out a tear that had escaped my cheek. I didn't know how I was going to thank him any longer. Was he really going to do this for me without expecting anything in return, rather than doing my job of being close
