Chapter 19. Are You Afraid of Me?

Emily's POV

I turned around quickly with my heart racing, ready to defend myself if I found out someone was creeping in on me and wanted to attack or hurt me. I didn't think anyone would be standing there and that was because I'd been so lost in the whole thing. My heart was pounding when I turned to see Berton standing there. My breath began to ebb immediately as I sat there, staring at me. Why was he so creepy sometimes, I wondered? But I guessed it was his nature as an Alpha to be like that.

"Oh..." my voice trailed off as it dawned on me. But what he did next was what I didn't expect at all. He began clapping, and his face beamed.
