I was in my office, going over some documents when my phone rang. I picked the phone and saw it was my mother calling. I sighed, shaking my head while hoping that she wasn't going to come with one of her bad talks about Emily. I just hoped things wouldn't get heated between us this time because I was tired of her ranting. Her voice was urgent as she spoke.

"Hey Berton. Where are you?" She asked. Her voice was packed with a lot of urgency that I got alarmed immediately.

"In my office, is there any problem?" I asked.

"No, or course not. Well, not quite. There's a banquet coming up and I forgot to tell you about it. I'm sorry this is coming late but it's happening this evening and I need you to be there. You have to be there, is there a way you can cancel the rest of your plans for today and come home right after you're done with work?" She asked.
