Chapter 54. Stick on a Date

Berton's POV

The sun rays peeked into the room through the slightly open curtains. The light flashed on my face, forcing me to open my eyes with a groan. My gaze darted, scanning the place. My head was banging and I felt drained.

Yesterday, I spent the whole day thinking about my mother's words. I could tell that she meant everything she said, and she was indeed going to do her best to separate me and Emily. Her words were both heartbreaking and confusing. This was the first time she was acting this way. She was never like this, and she had always been understanding and supportive but this time around, she wanted nothing to do with Emily.

Was the status that more important to her than my happiness? How do I talk to her or convince her to accept the relationship? I just hoped that she would come to terms with it and realize how much Emily means to me. But the question was, how long would it take for her to realize that I love Emily?
