Chapter 74

HAZEL

Gabriel was huffing and puffing in the center of the room while he waited for an answer. Our eyes were locked in an intense glare from where I lay on the blood-soaked carpet with the metallic scent continuously seeping up my nose—and when I slowly got up I tried not to slip on the wet floor or trip over their bodies. The blood under my feet made the floor into an ice rink, I lost balance and saw Gabe’s hand twitch to reach out but I steadied myself.

Without answering him I removed my teddy and threw it in the trash, I was never putting on something like that again.

I walked over and grabbed a black long-sleeved shirt from the closet, it hugged my body and wouldn’t flutter around while I ran. I paired it with a pair of tights that I could run and fight in and then I headed for the door.

“Hold up! Where the fuck is Darian?” He walked beside me and matched my speed.

“I don’t know and honestly, Gabe, I couldn’t care less about his whereabouts,” I spat
