Chapter 56. Welcome

Megan's POV

My eyes widened at the sight. At the sink, Adam’s hands were buried in suds as he washed dishes by hand. The kitchen was spotless; the marble counter was gleaming. It was clear he had been busy for a few hours.

“Hi,” I said since they probably couldn’t smell me because of the cleaning supplies.

Adam simply moved a bowl from soapy water to clean water, then set it on a towel on the counter.

“Did you sleep well?”

“Yes,” I said, stepping into the kitchen in careful bare feet. The floors were slippery from the water. Adam wasn’t a great mopper, but I had to give him extra points for trying.

“What are you doing?”
