A Few Months Later.

“Hold still, Elara, or I’m going to stab you with this pin,” Selene warned, biting down on her lip as she meticulously tucked another delicate silver flower-pin into my braid.

Selene had fully recovered now and had happily taken over the job of combing and styling my hair from Mira. Today was one of those days. But today was much more special.

It was mine and Kieran’s wedding day, and the nerves had made a permanent home in my stomach.

“I can’t help it.” I laughed nervously, my knee bouncing. “It feels like my stomach is full of angry butterflies. I swear I am going to trip on the way to the altar. I know it.”

“You won’t trip, Luna.” Mira’s voice was calm and steady as she sorted through the jewelry laid out across the vanity. “And even if you did, Alpha Kieran would catch you. He always does.”
