Chapter 21. Love Should Exist

“It should be next week or the third week of this month,” Dr. Miller uttered after she checked on me.

Caden gazed at me with worry in his eyes, while Marissa seemed delighted by the news that she would finally meet her grandchild any time soon. Caden panicked when I told him my hips were killing me that morning, and so he called Dr. Miller, fearing that I was already in labor.

“It happens.” Dr. Miller smiled at both of us. She seemed excited as well about the baby: “It’s called false labor. There will be pain until your body is ready to give birth, Giselle. But if anything happens, like heavy bleeding, you should call me right away.”
