Chapter 93
Irene's POV
As soon as the door closed behind Layla, my eyes shifted to the wolf who stirred to a standing position beside me, looking at the guard angrily.
“Looks like you’re always angry, “ I said as we sat again. It looked like he had formed a little form of attachment to us. The wolfsbane would wear off completely any time soon. It should have but the fact that he wasn’t shifting showed that it wasn’t gone yet or he did not want to shift yet.
I wondered why Leon would send for her and I began to silently hope she would be alright. I wiped a tear that was coming down my face with the back of my hands. This mission of ours seemed to have become so dangerous that it seemed there would never be an end to it.
What if Leon does something to Layla and she doesn’t come back? The door opened again and I looked up to see the same guard gesture for me to come. I looked at the start wolf who growled lowly as he stood protectively in front of me.
