Layla's POV

The cool breeze whizzed past my face as I leaned out of the car to get a little air on my face.

“That is dangerous.” I heard Olivia say, and I nodded but made no move to return my head to the car.

I am more than anxious to save Irene and return to the pack to see my son. Although, deep down, I wish Augustus would not be returned, but he is the only bargaining chip that we have here.

“We’re close.” She said, and I sat up in the seat as I prepared for whatever was to happen. I could clearly see that Logan’s car had stopped, but neither he nor Andrew stepped out of the car, and then, not too long after, I saw Leon and a few of his men arrive. I did not see Irene or her mate with them, and I wondered where they kept them.

“She’s not with them,” I said.

“I guess it’s a good thing that we did not reveal Augustus soon too.”

We watched them converse for a long time, and I saw the way Olivia was uneasy whenever Logan went
