Robert shrugged. “They'll battle in whatever form they choose. But Gabriel has to force his pack to be given him earlier than he can dominate the different Chimera. So he begins with the wolves.” His eyes unfocused for a second as if he had been relying on his hearing. Then he gave a small smile and nodded, returning to his food.

“Be happy, Amelia . The male has submitted. Gabriel won't even have to combat him.”

Robert took any other giant bit of meat and beans. Amelia determined her appetite suddenly gone. “Can I seem for him now?”

“No,” Robert said, shaking his head so his hair fluttered round his shoulders. “Not until he is taken the wolf-Alpha.”
